Trianemi Kindergarden and Primary school

Trianemi is a non- profit association, based in Greece, that was founded in early 2017 and so far has established a Kindergarten and the first Waldorf Primary School in Athens.

The school opened in September 2017 covering primary education, as defined in the Greek education system(ages 4-12). Trianemi has 165 students on its 5th year of operation, having reached almost its full potential in the current school facilities.

Trianemi focuses on educating the whole child. As a Waldorf school, we want the curriculum to engage the student’s hands, heart, mind, and spirit, appealing to students’ internal motivation, educating them socially and morally as well as academically. Following the Greek National curriculum, we enrichen it with art and movement lessons, keeping the Waldorf education in the center of our pedagogy. More broadly, we want the school to meet the children’s developmental needs, sparking a child’s curiosity and natural motivation to learn.

Trianemi is a place of warmth and support for child development, keeping a balance with an alertness on academic progress and a connection with the modern world.

The school has a vision to move to self-owned facilities and increase its current capacity, welcoming the growth of its school community and aiming to open three more classes 7th - 9th, entering secondary education, according to Greek law. This vision is crystalised in concrete actions in the past year with the constant support of the Freunde der Erziehungskunst Rudolf Steiners. Making the vision a reality requires maximum effort from Trianemi and help from the world community.
