Kufunda Village School is nestled in an indigenous forest in a learning village 25 km from Harare, Zimbabwe. The school is part of Kufunda Village, a farm-community and learning centre for people of all ages, and open to people from all over the world. Kufunda Learning Village is 21 years old. Our school has grown out of Kufunda, and is now 10 years old.

Our school strives to provide a healthy and holistic education to children from 3 to 14 (ECD to Grade 7). In addition to Shona, English, Maths, Science, History and Geography, the children learn a variety of artistic skills: painting, drawing, singing and dance.

Added to these is a third sphere of more practical activities: handwork (sewing, knitting, crochet, etc), woodwork, and gardening.

In these ways the child’s intellectual, artistic and practical skills are developed in an

integrated and holistic way.

Our School fees are $150 USD per Term, but due to our geographical area most of our parents can’t afford to pay this. Most of our children are currently paying only a fraction of this, and even so many parents are struggling to pay even the nominal fees (for many only 25 USD per term).
